Maybe the Big 12 and ACC should lose their BCS standing in a few years! The early part of this year has been a wonderful start for the BIG EAST! They have 3 quality teams at best, so I'm not sure how that works out for them. It's not like their bottom teams are better than other conferences. Oh well. That being said, the Big East might have 4 ranked teams in a few weeks if Pitt and Rutgers can keep doing well. Not to mention 2 of those might bein the top 10 (and maybe 1 in top 5). That's on par with any other conference, especially considering we only have 8 teams.

Next week is going to be tough for the conference. I hope Syracuse beats ILL. I was pretty surprised that they gave Iowa a game. What can make the BIG EAST strong is that we have only 8 members in the conference. It looks like we may have just maybe one bad team in Syracuse this season. I think Uconn may be strong this season if they stay healthy. Pitt, Rutgers, WVU, and UL are the class of the BIG EAST right now. Hopefully, USF can get there pretty soon to help out this season. So USCs performance over the past three years (not to mention this year with USC, Oregon, and Cal being rated highly)influences it. I have never put much faith in Sagarin rankings. and guys-- it's not a poll, just a computer program. As for Cuse being bad-- I'd be careful about that one. They surprised the hell out of me with their performance against Iowa. Granted Iowa didn't have their #1 QB and threw 3 ro 4 interceptions-- but still-- they are not going to be an "easy" win. I don't know that we have an easy win left on our schedule. This will be the year of winning (or losing) UGLY.
