I've slept it off but it still hasn't gone away...  >:(

1) OL: no holes for the RB.

2) DL: no pass rush

3) Grothe telegraphing his passes.

4) Our kicker SUCKS!

5) Team preparation/Coaching: much like a bad high school football program.

Yup, I've gone to the bad side now. I've very little faith in this program left after what happened last night -and most of last week.

Give me three victories in a row and prove me wrong.  Maybe they can buy them on Ebay or something, because right now, as it is, this team will not win another game --there are no I-AA teams left on the schedule.

I thought the D line had a better pass rush last night then they had last week. Selvie was getting pressure a good deal of the night. We still need to improve a bit, maybe blitz a bit more and stunt a bit.

The OL does need to open better holes. They are good at pass blocking, but not so much on the run blocking.

Grothe will get better with checking off as he matures. One thing I noticed is that he throws the ball to where only our WR's can catch it. He has good velocity on his short to mid ranges passes.

Agree 100% on the placekicker. Not a good situation right now.

There isn't much a lack of preparation. In looking back at the first 2 games, turnovers have killed us. Those happen every game. It's how you overcome them that shows what type of character and reserve the team has. Once our running game gets back on track we will be a much more difficult offense to plan against.

Unfortunately, Selvie seemed to be the ONLY D-line player to be playing with some cojones. He had a great game, but where was the rest of the D-line?

I agree with BB in regards to the O-line. There were no open holes for our RB's. The game will be mighty interesting against UCF next week. I'll be there pulling for my beloved Bulls.

2 interceptions says that item in bold isn't true  ;)

Actually, i do agree with you, and as the night progressed, his passes seemed more and more on the money.  Of course he's going to have some youthful mistakes, but I still think he's going in the right direction.  He's learning on the fly and while the results might not show as much this year... I think its obvious we've found a gem here.

and Benzer WILL regroup.

Grothe is going to throw INTs on that out route all year. He did it in spring practice, spring game, fall practice, and now the game. It's one of those "freshman mistakes" that he's going to have to grow out of.

As for Benzer...he's 0-for his career. It's not looking good.

Playcalling was predictable, and once again for about the 6th year in a row the team is still undiciplined.  That comes back to coaching.

Return game trips itself yet again

By GREG AUMAN, Times Staff Writer

Published September 10, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TAMPA - Call it many unhappy returns.

If one play encapsulated the self-destructive, frustrating nature of USF's first half Saturday night, it would be the second time Ean Randolph appeared to have scored a touchdown on a punt return, only to have it negated by penalty. Actually, by three penalties on one play.

Randolph, a Durant graduate, has taken four punts to the end zone for apparent touchdowns in his two games at USF. Three of those have been called back, so while coach Jim Leavitt is thrilled about Randolph's one touchdown that held up Saturday, he's also aware of the three that have been taken from him.

"It breaks my heart," Leavitt said. "He does so well, and we keep getting (penalties). The effort's great, but it's very foolish. We've talked at length about it. I say, 'How many times are we going to do this?' Poor Ean, he'd be leading the country easy if we weren't so foolish."

On Randolph's third would-be touchdown, he fielded a Florida International punt on his 38-yard line, but one flag had already been thrown by then. Another flag for a block in the back came during his return, and a third, a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, came when Mike Jenkins took his helmet off to celebrate a touchdown that had already been wiped out by flags.

What's worse, the first penalty, a personal-foul facemask against cornerback Tyller Roberts, happened before the punt, giving the Panthers a first down. So instead of a touchdown for USF and a 14-13 lead, FIU got 30 yards in penalties and a fresh set of downs on the Bulls 40, later leading to an FIU touchdown.

NEW STARTERS: With redshirt freshman Moe Plancher out with a torn ACL in his right knee, sophomore walk-on Ben Williams got his first career start. Redshirt freshman Danny Tolley of Wesley Chapel got his first career start at right tackle, but he was replaced in the opening quarter by sophomore Marc Dile. Sophomore Matt Huners of Palm Harbor replaced starter Jared Carnes at left tackle in the first quarter as well. Senior Thed Watson, who played extensively in last week's opener, did not dress and wore a boot on his left ankle.

At tight end, senior Will Bleakley of Crystal River, arrested Tuesday in Tampa on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence, was replaced by sophomore Cedric Hill. Bleakley played in the second half.

The only defensive change in the starting lineup was tackle Woody George sliding over to left end, with junior Richard Clebert replacing him on the inside.

RUNNING WOES: With Ricky Ponton suspended and Plancher injured, the Bulls struggled to run the ball, though quarterback Matt Grothe was able to rush for 82 yards. Three running backs - senior Walt Smith, Williams and freshman Keeley Dorsey - had 15 carries for 20 yards, that is, until Williams had a 20-yard run on fourth and 14 with 38 seconds to play to clinch the win.

THIS AND THAT: Sophomore kicker Mike Benzer missed a 35-yard field goal wide in the first quarter. He has now missed his first five, including three last season. ... Chandler Williams' 82-yard punt return was the first for a touchdown against the Bulls since Alabama's Shaud Williams in August 2003. Robert Mitchell's 14-yard interception return was the first for a touchdown against the Bulls since Pittsburgh's Malcolm Postell in December 2004. ... On FIU's fifth offensive drive, USF played its entire second-string secondary, using cornerbacks Ryan Gilliam and Jerome Murphy and safeties Louis Gachette and Carlton Williams.

A little bright side stuff.

We shut them out in the second half.

Taurus Johnson.

Ean Randolph.

Best linebacker corp in the country.

The team and coaches didn't give up.

UCF will still be reeling from UF's trouncing.

Chambers, Josh Julmiste, and Ricky Ponton will be back (soon I hope).

We will improve each game.

I'm still predicting 7-4 this year.

Go Bulls!!!

Matt was the offense, help from the RB's  and special teams would help a heck of a lot.  As for Benzer, he looks just like last year IMO
