no sleep yet

i had to take girlfriend out on town because i was such an butthead during game(until we pulled it out)

i want to to thank sheriff, bulumni,go usf and others for trying to get me game online.

ultimately it was leavitation's magic combination of numbers, symbols and letters that worked.i passed it on to other bullfans.

brad as always was great MC in chatroom

what happened to our bulls?

bulliever pointed out that our team was young but i dont remember anyone pushing that angle at all. i remember 10-0,11-1 etc.

young or not usf should be able to manhandle  fiu on shear talent.we are a big east team.

it seems we have regressed

grothe is the real deal.sure he is green but he has "it"

give me a 50-0 blow out everytime over yesterday

smazza,

I am with you all the way. These close games against so-called cupcakes are not good for my heart. It may be a long year because there are no more cupcakes left on the schedule.

well we can still go 10-0 but I have my doubts. I had those same doubts before the season started though so no big deal there.

As far as this game goes, I think we severely underestimated FIU as a team. They've got some great skill players-- their QB was one cool customer. They did get alot of breaks and we sure didn't help ourselves.

Someone on the sideline made the comment that this was the mirror image of last years Louisville game, with the exception that we somehow found a way to prevail. Not a bad assessment.

One thing I do know for certain is that Grothe can flat out ball. He may not be the best at every thing and he is definitely subject to some Freshman type mistakes. But I saw him duck would be tacklers left and right. The photos I'm sending Brad at the moment have a couple of series that show his elusive ability with a defender in his face.

I think we are missing those guys who are out right now-- not a knock on their substitutes but I see Josh Julmiste as giving us a ton more pressure on the QB and being able to cover the corner a little better. It's a good thing bad thing type of situation-- these younger guys are getting some valuable experience while they're out. Ponton, Plancher-- those guys would be great to have back. Again-- not a knock on Walt Smith or Benjamin Williams et al-- just think they have a better burst to offer. ANd more fresh legs in the backfield is never a bad thing.

We're 2-0-- where we expected to be after these two games. It's far from how we expected the games themselves to play out-- BUT-- the wins are wins and nobody else is going to care how we got em come November.

Now let's go take care of business in the Citrus Bowl

Wins are wins no doubt, but we also need to see some improvement in areas where we have issues. We certainly played a better team last night, but you can make a good arguement that we didn't improve in some areas, and regressed in others. This isn't going to help if we cannot get it straightened out, and quickly.

There is no way this can can go 10-0 the way we are playing right now. The D is playing very well, which we expected, but our special teams and running game need to start producing and cutting out the mistakes. MG made the mistakes a freshman will make, but he did some very good things that we haven't seen our QB do for a while.

Grothe seems to be the type of player who does what it takes to win.  He made some mistakes, but in the end he got the job done.

If he can learn from those mistakes and improve we'll be sitting pretty for the next four years at the QB position.

I wish we had Randolph returning punts for more than this year.  That kid is amazing.

Wasn't there an article in Friday's paper about Grothe's high school coach saying that so many times he pulled off a win for them, even in the last couple seconds of the game? I can't remember if it was the St. Pete Times or the Trib, I'm sure somebody posted it on here though.  So weird how that article comes out and he clinches that win for us in the last couple minutes.

Grothe better start putting some velocity on his passes and stop staring down receivers.
