What is up with Ricky Ponton??????

This is the story of the spring and nobody on this board even talks about it?  

The only r- back we have that has carried the ball in a D-1 game and CJL talks like he is on the practice squad...

Can someone find out some info on this situation...  What is the deal?

I was wondering the same thing.  It seemed last year everyone was talking about how big of a hit loosing Hall was going to be but that Ponton would pick up the slack.

I have it from an insider that Ricky will miss the first 4 games.  The person wouldnt tell me why.  I am not trying to start things, as I think my record will attest.

Lets just hope he gets his stuff together and has a strong conference schedule.

something is definetly up.....because CJL doesn't even really bring him up...

He could be just flat out getting beat out, which is a great thing.  Shows the depth at RB.  We saw what Ponton could do last year, if MP is beating him out, it means he has talent.  I am not worried about the RB position, I think we will be fine there.  I am more concerned about getting good play at the qb position.

I heard a similar rumor from my old roomate, but he is usually dead wrong with information, so I didn't really buy it.

I wasn't a big fan of Ricky's running style and thought he was better suited as a "change up" back. Moise Plancher is the better of the two.

Still starting the season with a young RB is never a sure thing.

Keys I am not sure about 4 games I heard more along the lines of 2 games.  Ponton, Julmiste, and a WR I can't believe I forgot but not a huge deal b/c we dont throw much.  I know the reasons but anyhow, dont expect them the first 2 games.

What would make someone miss 4 games? an injury? a suspension? be more specific people!

does ponton have a redshirt? if he's going to get beat out of a job AND be out for half the season, you might as well redshirt him....right?

Get specific people.  Why is Ponton, Julmiste, and a WR missing 2 games.  We have to know.
