Guest
I would bet that if the game is NOT with UCF, then we might use this as part of a 1-1 or 2-1 with a school like USM or UAB or ECU... Can't see USF doing a single-game (i.e. pay them to come here) against a C-USA team.

If we sign it now then there is no way we can play UCF? Is there a way to get some inside info on the exact wording of this deal.

(They) are important for our football program as well," USF athletic director Doug Woolard said. Before playing those games, the Bulls have two more dates with UCF, in Tampa in 2007 and Orlando in 2008. It wasn't extensive public lobbying from Knights coach George O'Leary that convinced USF, but rather a call from Conference USA commissioner Britton Banowsky."Britton called and asked if we would continue to play Central Florida, so we'll fulfill the obligations of our exit agreement," said Woolard, whose Bulls beat UCF 31-15 last year and travel to Orlando on Sept.16.When USF left C-USA to join the Big East, it agreed to play one game against a C-USA school each season for five years, if requested. It's now unlikely the league will require USF to honor a fifth game in 2009.The Bulls are more interested in the prestige of playing BCS schools, as they did last year with Miami and will this fall at Kansas and North Carolina.USF coach Jim Leavitt, asked about playing the Knights for two more years, said he'll leave the talking to the other coach."O'Leary can say what he wants. I'm not O'Leary," he said. "I'm just focused on the next day of practice. I'm not looking that far ahead."© Copyright, St. Petersburg Times. All rights reserved.E.T. It appears likely that we will be let out of our 2009 C-DOA exit agreement committment.

UCF should be cutting USF the same check this year, if I'm not mistaken ...
