The coach, who is still trying to convince his administration to build a football stadium, said, "The game of football is not worthwhile if you don't play on campus. Staying at a municipal stadium is not something you want to do. It's been OK for (the University of) South Florida, but the Orange Bowl has not been OK for Miami." The former UM coach also said, "We have declared war on Miami, Florida and Florida State." He was talking about recruiting, I think. · An annual UCF game appeared to be a touchy subject for USF coach Jim Leavitt. Although he said, "(the I-4 rivalry) seems like an awfully good game," the Bulls would obviously prefer Miami as a permanent rival. "How many teams in Florida are you going to play?" Leavitt asked. Good luck trying to lock in the 'Canes. The Bulls may have to settle for UCF. brent.woronoff@news-jrnl.com

However, if the Orange Bowl 'has not been ok' for Miami, is this not something that would have been addressed years ago? Face it, the OB provides executive level jobs for the local folk who rent out their front yards for parking. Were it not for the OB, they'd be pulling double shifts unloading shipping containers. : I think FAU - regardless of who the coach is - is in the same situation we are in. A finite number of resources and fans.

He has the clout to talk junk. If he builds FAU that will be three programs which is pretty impressive.

It will be much tougher than his past positions.

The Bulls may have to settle for UCF. who wrote this (crap)...we will have to settle for ucf...does he not know we have three more games scheduleed with UM only 1 with ucf...and there is real talk of an annual thanksgiving game against UM so CJL is talking "real" about the chance of having UM as a rival.
