Dates Identified for Miami Games in '12/'13

• UM signs football contracts: The University of Miami has signed contracts to play home-and-home series in football with Kansas State in 2011 and 2012 and with South Florida in 2012 and 2013.

"We are trying to schedule good football schools and top Division I-AA opponents," UM coach Larry Coker said.

Miami will play Kansas State in the Orange Bowl on Sept. 24, 2011, and then will play at Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kan., on Sept. 8, 2012. They will be the first games between the schools.

The two-game series with South Florida will be Sept. 15, 2012, in the Orange Bowl and Sept. 21, 2013, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. The Hurricanes and Bulls played for the first time last October in the Orange Bowl, with Miami winning 27-7.

Not sure, it could actually be an insult - consider that he could have meant: "We are trying to schedule" Kansas ("good football school") and USF ("top I-AA opponent")...

COLLEGE FOOTBALL

The University of Miami has signed a contract to play home-and-home series with South Florida in 2012 and 2013. The two-game series will be on Sept. 15, 2012, at the Orange Bowl and Sept. 21, 2013, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

The Hurricanes and Bulls played for the first time Oct. 1, 2005, at the Orange Bowl, with Miami winning, 27-7.

"At USF, (head coach) Jim Leavitt has done a tremendous job," Miami head football coach Larry Coker said. "The Bulls are now a prominent school in the Big East, and they had that huge win over Louisville last year. There will be a lot of competition, a lot of interest with in-state fans. There will be a lot of players that both schools recruited, so they will know one another."

The Hurricanes also signed a contract to play Kansas State in 2011 and 2012.
