USF’s Addison Maruszak Named Freshman All-American

TUCSON, Ariz. (June 8, 2006) – Freshman shortstop Addison Maruszak was named to the 2006 “Louisville Slugger” All-American Team as announced by Collegiate Baseball.

Named the BIG EAST Rookie the Year, Maruszak posted .284 average overall with 30 runs scored, 14 doubles, one triple, one home run and 26 RBI on the year. The right-hander played above his freshman status becoming one of the team’s most consistent leaders on and off the field. His 14 doubles led USF and his on-base percentage of .390 was the best on the team. The Pinellas Park, Fla., native finished the season ranked second on the team in hits with 58, while his 26 RBI were the fourth-best by a Bull in 2006. Maruszak becomes the seventh player at USF to be named a Louisville Slugger “ All-America by Collegiate Baseball.
