Big men - hoops

I am a little confused as to why some people complain about lack of big guys in this year's signing class.

To summarize, we have signed:

Dennis - PG or combo

Water - SG

Lithuanian guy - wing player/small forward

Mobley - PF with questions about height - although a solid 240 lbs which will be a force in the paint

Jones - PF or C, 3-star athlete

The only real unknown is Mobley, but if he is capable of playing in the Big East by his Senior year - and there's no reason at this time to believe he can't - then I don't see reason for despair on a massive scale.

We actually addressed all five positions with this class. Since Jones and Mobley are only going to be around for two years, I am looking for McCullum to sign more quality post players in the Fall.

You are correct, and actually maybe not having a freshman Big man in this class might increase the chance of landing a bigger fish next year.... perhaps?

We didn't do that bad, for starting late, and the juco experience will help.

My biggest concern is that they all just stay healthy for a change, and nobody gets thrown off the team or quits.  :-/

We'll be in CUSA next year so it'll be more prep for the big east rather than actual big east.  We just need our guys to work hard during the season and the off season, work on shooting, fundamentals, etc.  We're not gonna have high expectations next year at all, so we should just sit back and watch the team come together.

As long as the people coming in can shoot well, it'll all work out, even if they are undersized.  Good shooting makes up for many mistakes.
