Tampa Baptist Looks To Add Football

Tampa Baptist has plans to start a prep football program in the year 2005, Athletic Director David Curry said.

``We had a group of parents whose sons were interested in playing football,'' Curry said. ``They played while in middle school, and the parents didn't want to change schools. They [parents] put together an elaborate proposal.''

The school's board approved the plan last Wednesday. Curry said the group will start fundraising for the program, and other aspects are in the planning stage.

The school doesn't have a field, but there is a practice area nearby. With the school's population (412 in grades K-12) chances are the Rams will play against teams such as Temple Heights, Cambridge and Providence Christian.<

Providence Christian has a team huh?  Was wondering where my 8 yr, 95 lb'r would play guard or DT at when he starts high school.
