Three More Apply For USF's Vacant AD Position

TAMPA - LSU senior associate athletic director Dan Radakovich is among the latest applicants for South Florida's vacant athletic director position.

Milton Richard, athletic director at Division II Cal-State Stanislaus, and John Hopkins cardiology administrator Brad Smith also applied. Richard was formerly Kansas State's AD and also an associate AD at Temple.

Radakovich came to LSU in May 2001 after a one-year stint at American University.

Prior to American, Radakovich was a South Carolina associate AD for six years where he directed the financial operations for the Gamecocks' $30 million athletic budget. From 1989-94, he was a Long Beach State senior associate AD. A 1980 graduate of Indiana (Pa.) University, Radakovich also was an athletics business manager at Miami from 1983-85.

Radakovich, Richard and Smith bring the number of official applicants to six. Previous applicants were Mark Hollis (Michigan State associate AD), Johnny Williams (Troy State AD) and former Cincinnati Reds General Manager Jim Bowden.

Radakovich intrigues me.  Associate AD for two SEC schools, a stint out in California, from the Northeast and worked for Miami.  That's quite a resume'

yeah, but we should all be a bit leery when a person goes from all these big schools to suddenly this DII school out of the blue.

Reminds me of the Cory Johnson situation.  Why was he at Nova after all those great stints everywhere else?  We found out a little to late why- Mr. Johnson's wandering hands.
