Southern Miss Game Thoughts

This is is a game we should win easily but there are concerns 

1. How will the team play after the Bama game and with UM upcoming, will they be focused 

2. Brown and the passing game must improve dramatically from first two weeks

3. Running back must be better, Brown can’t be the leading rusher every game.

4. Will we get the defense that played for 3.5quarters vsxBama or the one that played the last 0.5

We are favored by 8.5 and we really need @ convincing victory before playing UM, Tulane and Memphis

Listening to CAG post game and he mentioned last year's struggles (inoppurtune losses) and seemingly is aware of the risk for a letdown.  He also talked of looking at the film and it sounds like if effort is an issue, there might be consequences.   It thought that some guys were gassed and that's understandable.

Regardless this is going to be a tough game, so I will take any win by whatever margin. Its a must win since the last thing we want is to be 1-2 with Miami, Tulane, and Memphis on the horizon.

Not that worried about Brown and the passing game. Last year he had a slow start as well against WKU, plus threw interceptions, and was probably worse last year against Alabama than last night. He has proven that he can play and I believe adjustments will be made.  I am fine with him running the ball since you get the yards however way you can, and it can open up the passing game.

Yea he actually was worse last year vs Bama...had a int and less yards and that was with an extra game to find his groove last year.

He should bounce back vs Southem Miss.

Rivalry games on the road can be tough. And I still consider So Miss an old rival.

Keys to win:

-Establish run game, offensive line needs to open up gaps for our backs.

-Byrum needs to settle down and hit the open targets. (also to not be a statue in the pocket)

-The defense needs to play lights out once again, force pressure, and not let receivers be uncovered.

-NO STUPID PENALTIES
