This Week: 31  -- Increase of 7 votes compared to last week

Next 5 Upcoming Games:
at Tulsa (15-4) <-- *Must Win* (Currently 2nd place in AAC -- 5-1 Conference)
at Memphis (11-8)
ECU (14-6)
at SMU (13-6) (They're undefeated at home this season 10-0)
Houston (6-13)

After this next 5 game stretch, we may be 23-4 and 12-0 in conference. I believe we will finally get ranked after our next game if we convincingly beat Tulsa on the road. Our record will be 19-4 but..we'll see, it may take cracking 20 wins. I'm surprised we haven't made it yet and it may take a few more wins before the women are finally shown the respect they deserve. USF women have been a perennial winner and with the exception of a 22 pt loss to a ranked Villanova team, our only losses were close and all against ranked opponents. We have wins over Texas and Arkansas who were ranked #22 and #17, respectively. USF is currently 11-0 at home and the sole holder of first place in the conference this season.

Current Rankings of USF's Only Losses:
Villanova #21 by 22 pts (Neutral) -- Improved 1 spot from last week
Michigan #13 by 5 pts (Neutral) -- Improved 1 spot from last week
NC State #20 by 8 pts (Road) -- Unchanged from last week
Ohio State #2 by 2 pts in OT (Neutral) -- Unchanged from last week

Current Rankings of USF's Ranked Wins:
Texas -- Receiving Votes (35) -- Won by 5 pts (Road) -- Dropped from rankings from last week
Arkansas -- Receiving Votes (2) -- Won in OT by 1 pt (Neutral) -- Receiving fewer votes compared to last week

Don't look for us to be ranked this season unless the teams 22 - 25 lose a game or two. CJF was talking about the rankings of the in-conference teams and none are better than 70.  So, should we win out, look for a 6 seed. Any losses and we are in that dreaded 8 - 11 area again.

Right. Meaningful wins at the end of the year get you ranked. Look at our .500 baseball team two years ago who finished in the top 20.

I think if we win out we will be looking at a 4 or 5 seed, especially if we play like we did against UCF. Impressive victories like that bolster the NET rankings, which are way more important to seeding than the Top 25. We are currently #29 in NET, but will continue to move up with more wins.

Looking at our NET resume, we have wins over #11, 21, 38, 72, and 73 and the losses to #8 (in OT), 12, 15, and 17. If the Bulls had just won that Ohio State game, we are probably ranked around #20.

We would benefit from Memphis, Tulane, and Tulsa performing well against the rest of the league.

Latest bracketology showed us a 6-seed in the Greenville Regional.

I was paraphrasing CJF from his pregame talk Sunday. Seems RPI still will play some role in seeding.  I had asked if he'll continue to schedule strong non conference teams in future years since NET seems to be the criteria.  I suppose there is no simple equation  for the seeding.

If you want higher than a 7 seed you have to play the challenging non-conference schedule. MTSU is ranked and currently ahead of us in the NET rankings, but Charlie Creme, the women's bracketologist, projects them as a 9 seed because their best NET win is over #33 and their two losses are to #70 and #183.

Exactly what I was thinking. USF cannot lose any of the remaining games and get in the top 25 without somebody above them losing.
