GAME DAY vs. Tulsa Hurricane

USF will look to end an 11-game AAC losing skid and 17-game road losing skid as they play that last road game of the season at Tulsa, where the Bulls are 2-0 with a pair of come-from-behind victories in 2014 and 2018. The last two games in the series have been played in Tampa, with Tulsa winning 42-13 (2020) and 32-31 (2021). USF’s last road win came with a 45-20 victory at ECU on Oct. 28, 2019.

BATTIE SEEKS 4 STRAIGHT: RB Brian Battie has posted 100-yard games in his last three outings as he increased his season rushing total to 873, just 137 short of the 10th 1,000-yard season in program history.

BOYLES EYES 100 & GAMES PLAYED MARK: Having led USF in tackles in the last six games, LB Dwayne Boyles looks to become just the 13th Bull to post 100 tackles in a season (16 seasons overall) and the first since safety Khalid McGee (111) in 2018. He needs three tackles to become the 8th to post 300 on a career at USF. He currently has played in 52 career games, tied for the USF record, and will set a new mark when he steps on the field in Tulsa.

Da PRATO & SIMS: Special teams coordinator Daniel Da Prato assumed acting head coach responsibilities in the wake of the dismissal of third-year head coach Jeff Scott. Co-Defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Ernie Sims assumed all defensive coordinator responsibilities as defensive coordinator/safeties coach Bob Shoop was also dismissed following the Bulls 54-28 loss at Temple (11.5). Da Prato is in his third season at USF and was a former quarterback at Louisiana Monroe (2002-03). Sims is also in his third season at USF. The former All-American linebacker at Florida State (2004) joined Da Prato in serving as co-defensive coordinators in the Bulls’ final game of the 2021 season vs. UCF, following the dismissal of then defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer. The Bulls held UCF to 12 first downs and 285 yards in a close, 17-13, loss.

I had that optimisitic feeling, like this would be the time we pull one off.  Then I remembered they were playing in freezing temps and changed my mind.

Kickoff temp now 29, better than forecasted 25 a couple days ago.  I think we get it done!

Honestly yes.  I was super optimistic going into that play.  Not as much after.
