Ellis Named C-USA Pitcher of the Week

CHICAGO, Ill. (March 29, 2004)-Leigh Ann Ellis has been named Co-Conference USA Pitcher of the week for her performance in the period ending March 28.  Ellis allowed no earned runs in three wins and one save.

Ellis (26-4) pitched three wins and one save to lead USF over an undefeated week.  The lefty pitched two one-hitters and struck out 21 batters in 17.1 innings over four games.  Ellis allowed no earned runs during the stretch and has improved her ERA to 0.83.  Her opponents managed to grab just six hits off of her, all of which were singles.

This is the fourth time this season Ellis has earned conference honors.  

The Bulls will look to extend their 13-game win streak this weekend with a three-game series against Saint Louis.
