I thought it would be nice to have a separate thread to put all things regarding any potential OC candidates.  Seth Varnadore throws out some interesting names.  Obviously he’s very high on Korn as our others.  Also, I wasn’t aware that Bobby Bentley was his HS coach.  Lots of connections to Korn with our staff.

Chad Morris is currently flaming out as a HS coach in Texas.  His offenses have never been good.  He was horrible at Arkansas and he was one of the reasons Gus got fired at Auburn.  Watch the TDS podcast on OC candidates and Seth puts up some stats on Chads offense.  Spoiler alert…It’s abysmal.  If he Scott hires Chad Morris as OC it would be the ultimate good old boy hire and seal his fate here.

Chad Morris is having a rough year in the Texas high school football ranks.

Do you think he would be experienced enough? I love the name but not sure about experience at coaching

Got to start somewhere, so why not USF? He was one of the key USF Bulls that helped put USF Football on the map when he beat Pitt.

Agreed, but would you prefer he start somewhere else, prove himself, then come home? Just stimulating debate, not arguing by any means.

Well we have to look at it as this. Would he be willing to leave his position to come to USF right now? It would be risky on his part as if USF has another 2 win season the whole coaching staff might be fired. So I guess it may be best for both USF and Blackwell to wait more years before making it a reality.

And Brian Gregory was on the same team as David Robinson at Annapolis.  Just saying that being on a team that won some games doesn't make you a great coach. Not hijacking since this is about football OC but wanted to point that out.  Heck, we already have BJ Daniels in house if we want to go former QB route.
