If it's a win for an SEC school to get him, how is it a win for us to lose him? I think BO's points about continuity, effect on recruits/transfers are valid ones ....

Only way I can see it as a win for us is we don't have to pay him not to coach here

I liked Weis, but I hope Scott finds an upgrade.

Going into year 3 replacing both coordinators is not great for Scott or the team.

CCS replaced his OC in year 3 and that worked out swimmingly for us in my recollection.  In all seriousness, his play calling was suspect at best, I know everyone loves continuity but he is very replaceable, you guys are acting like we lost an offensive mastermind, he is a kid in his twenty’s that was promoted way too quick.

I am not a message board wannabe, I am a full fledged poster that has earned his stripes and knows a thing or two.  Lane wil call the plays, Junior will be his puppet.

I am smart enough to know that I know very little to nothing about coaching a college football team.  I am a tad bit opinionated at times, that may rub some people wrong at times.  I am simply stating this is not a big loss, his play calling was subpar at best, surprised more don’t agree, if I am in the minority than that is fine.

I say we go the "Ted Lasso" route and hire someone who has never coached football before.  No way to hire a "re-tread" when they have no football experience to start with.  :bash:

Ok, we might as well start with some Speculation (I said speculation the other makes you go blind). So, CJS was co-offensive coordinator at clemson. Prob I have mustering any confidence in that item is, our repeated failure to convert 4th downs and our on again off again offense. Listening to W-jr he was pretty hyper. Wonder if that is how he conveyed things to the players?? Kiffin will keep him straight. So, who do we have from within that could be the OC or co-OC ?(like mentioned prior post re: the DC job) Looking at the list of offensive coaches out there it makes you wonder who would actually come to USF? W-jr was making around $300-350k. Tough to lure another G5 coach in since where they are, might be better than USF. Maybe the USF job is better than it appears...guess we shall see

Sure Coach Scott has a lot of Offensive connections. . . much more than on the Defensive Side.

You start at Pop Warner and just go up from there through the ranks. 15-20 years from now, you could be the new HC at USF
