There's several reports that Weis Jr has been hired as the new OC at Ole Miss

Yep, it's out there. Jr is heading back to Kiffin. They were prob successful at FAU because they both are offensive guys. USF? Here we go again. CJS will be on the mad scramble to find an OC. Hope it doesn't screw up the recruits, transfers etc. Someday maybe we will have some successful, ******* continuity. Hopefully, his contract has some payoff/exit penalty $$> prob not.

If it's a win for an SEC school to get him, how is it a win for us to lose him? I think BO's points about continuity, effect on recruits/transfers are valid ones ....

I like to think Blackwell will get a call as a potential replacement. He was demoted from OC to RBs after 2019 in Houston but I'd put an asterisk on that season for him between that year between his star QB opting out early in the year and Holgorsen taking over play-calling duties.

I would like to think that CJS might go the route in replacing the OC like he did with the DC, co-coordinators where one is hired from within and one from outside the staff.

It is a win for us to lose him and also a win that he gets a higher paying more prestigious job after going 3-19 for us, nepotism is still alive and well, he seemed like a nice kid and the one year of HS playing experience seems to have paid off as he gets a raise for all of his past successes, and who said life is not fair, meritocracy at its finest.

I liked Weis, but I hope Scott finds an upgrade.

Going into year 3 replacing both coordinators is not great for Scott or the team.
