Why would Marsh transfer.  He is guaranteed to be number two, and with the way McClain runs around, is essentially guaranteed of lots of playing time over the next couple years.

He sees himself as a number 1.

Then he probably should have taken better advantage of the chances he had at practice and the few games he was in.

I think most of it would be he's more of a drop back QB.

He wants to start. I think he has  three years left because of a covid year. HE has a cannon, but no chance to succeed here in this offense and bad oline. I wish him the best and hope he finds a new home. SO now CJS has only 1 QB left from his two years here. Something seems weird about that. HE was a passing game coordinator, he needs to be able to develop some QBS.

i am a big mcclain fan but he showed little improvement and has bad bad habits

the coaching staff cannot and must  allow him to run backwards, spend more time in the film room, throw a more accurate ball and lastly be aware of the game clock and situation on the field

i would bring in a jc qb

Yes on all that-He has much to learn and a lot of high school bad habits to get rid of...

He was never a QB. I think the offense is missing a true QB Coach...one with experience playing QB at a high level. I know BJ is on staff as a QC Analyst for the Offense. Just don't know how involved he is in the QB room or on the field with technique. McClain reminds me of BJ in the way he throws.
