Different players and different coaches... but the same thing happened.  Because this is how it generally works for everyone except a very few players every year.  And as you mentioned, the outcomes of every game are always on the team, not any one player or any one play.  Did McClain make mistakes? Sure.  Did those mistakes alone cost wins? To me, not at all. (You attribute more of the team's failure to McClain, "in a big way," than I would.)

I pointed out the past players because they are great examples of two talented winning quarterbacks who had the same problems but turned it around...to maybe give you more hope for the future.

And how do we know it was more Sims than Prato?

Hoping for a new DC and keep these two at their positions, Love 'em !

And fire Weiss and have BJ Daniels as the up and coming replacement for OC with Jeff Scott calling most of the plays next year. He was an OC on Nat'l Champ teams at Clemson, he could be a mentor for BJ. Stop wasting money on the retread coordinators.

He was co- offensive coordinator and I thought I read he was not calling plays.

Correct. Jeff Scott did not call plays for Clemson... just like has has not called plays in his first two seasons at USF.

So does anyone know what he was actually in charge of for the offense besides recruiting? I am curious did he work with any specific positions because the offense needs all the help it can get in developing players.

He was WR coach and I believe passing game coordinator at Clemson.

So our passing game is terrible and the receivers are average at best outside of Weaver. Lets hope he can work his magic or hit the road.

We had a true FR starting at QB most of the year. They offensive scheming and okay calling did not yield a terrible offense.
