If these conferences are trying to survive, then it may be necessary.  Especially if some of those higher end pac 12 academic schools go to the the big10 as speculated.

Absolutely ..... but there's been tons of crap like this unsubstantiated stuff that didn't come to fruition. There's absolutely nothing in there but speculation, no double secret sources mentioned.

That’s a good point. Certainly if PAC12 teams leave to the Big10 then the odds do get better for Big12 snagging Arizona and Arizona State.
