He was righting the ship for the Raiders. Some BS emails took him down... and heck, they were all true. Why should someone have to sugar coat the truth? Heck, Gruden sensed issues with Biden back in 2012. That's the type of guy you want as a head coach. He was clearly someone that could see things down the road. I personally hope Gruden runs with Trump in 2024.

As you can tell by my screen name, I am a Raiders fan.  I have been a Raiders fan much longer than I have been a USF fan/student/alumni.  Jon Gruden was doing anything but righting the ship for the Raiders.  His draft choices were terrible (Clelin Ferrell and Damon Arnette???).  HIs personnel decisions were horrible.  His play calling was conservative and gutless and boring.  His game plans were absolutely absymal.  He leaves the Raiders with a 22-31 record in his second stint, no winning seasons, no division titles, no playoff appearances.  He was running the Raiders into the ground, just like he ran the Bucs into the ground before that.  The NFL just did the Raiders a HUGE favor but allowing the franchise to get out of the absolutely ridiculous ten-year contract that Mark Davis signed Gruden to back in 2018.  Gruden is a bum and a loser and I am thrilled that he is gone from the Raiders.  I hope he does run with Trump in 2024, the laughs will be non-stop during that campaign.

You are spot on with this. Tony Dungy built that team and culture; yes he brought in a few players, but it was basically Dungy’s team. After year one, it all went down hill.

I don't have anything against Gruden personally, other than he is a terrible football coach.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
