At times, Williams was unstoppable. His ability to throw slants off RPO action was incredible, and he showed the full toolbox in a record-setting, 6 TD pass performance against the Louisville Cardinals. But, Williams’s penchant to hold the ball — a BIG NEGATIVE with a porous offensive line — and inconsistent to bad play when teams, even overmatched squads like FIU and Duke, took away his first read led to poor play, bad losses, and Williams eventually being benched in favor of Perry. After “leading” Miami to being the only FBS team to be shut out in their bowl game, Williams declared his intention to transfer to another school on January 23rd, 2020.
