USF's heyday in the Big East (wayyyy back when we were ranked #2 for half an hour) is still more impressive than this reeking pile of dung that the new Big XII-sans Texahoma UCF finds itself in. is it better than the AAC? sure, but these things are cyclical. can anyone name what matchups from the new Big XII will be must-see TV? no? didn't think so.

USF's best days are still more compelling than anything UCF has done before or since & a slightly better than lateral move to the new Big XII may be painful in the sense that being excluded & rejected is always painful, but it's not the death-knell for USF that some people believe, nor is it the elevation to the Big Boys P5 club that UCF would like for it to seem.

& regardless of the reason why, getting an OCS is a huge plus that is over a decade in the making. let's embrace it & hope we can finally put a winning product on the field.

So you're saying USF fans should take heart that for that week in October 2007 when they reached #2 (in what was the most volatile year of ranking teams) is better than anything UCF will achieve?

And we're supposed to ignore the fact they went undefeated a few years ago?

I mean, I get that these things happened out of our control, but you're painting lipstick on a pig here.

ETA: the sooner USF gets an OCS the better, but this sorta feels like a wag-the-dog situation here.

And people mocked them for declaring themselves National Champs.  NCAA followed suit and it paid off for UCF.  Everyone should use that marketing genius.

They were punching upwards the whole time. It was pretty easy to get behind what they did.

They should have been mocked for that nonsense and would have gotten in without it. Their play on the field was all the resume they needed.

Why does WVU think they will be invited to the ACC?

Better question, why do they think they deserve to be invited? They're a dumpster, or couch, fire lately.

They will still pull $23/25mil a year according to reports and keep autonomy.

Just wait to see what tv deals they sign after texas and ou are not involved. I understand their commissioner is trying to spin it as not so bad but they will get hit a lot harder than what they are saying. Here is a UCF article that breaks down ratings with and without Texas and OU. It states that their ratings on the remaining schools are actually close to  AAC ratings. Who the hell wants to watch kansas state vs iowa state??

Oh and it will be the P4 now. Notice how they weren't included in the alliance with Pac 12 Big 10 and ACC.

This is just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Eventually the top 25 or 30 programs will break off to form their own league. Looks like the SEC is being aggressive going after the top programs.
