Can they milk it a couple years until it does?  If so, not bad.  It's still a status move.  Maybe the biggest slap in the face we've had in a while.

Agree, but the current USF leadership was not here 4 or 5 years ago.  Scott, Kelly, Weatherford, Law....all new.

Conference expansion not done.  Big 12 said they will expand again.  USF got the memo.

And with AAU on the horizon, we can think bigger than Big 12.

Let's go!

Haha. You’re living in fairy land with my daughters. The Big 12 is talking future expansion with teams other than us. We’re literally riding the short bus to irrelevance. USF leadership failed alum and current students.

They will still pull $23/25mil a year according to reports and keep autonomy.

Big 12's Kansas gets their tracks blown off by the Chanticleers, 49-22

Kansas beat Texas in 2016.  Over the last 10 years Kansas has only won 12 games but lost over 100

the TV + CFP + Basketball Credits wont drop nearly as much as you think

  • TV estimated $20-25M per team - even if assume $15-20M still . (first two years 50% distribution)
  • CFP is $66M to each P5 conference...that alone is $5M per team [ this will double or triple if expanded playoff]
  • Basketball credit $500k to $1.2M

and AAC distribution will drop as well....

How do they still qualify for P5? No way.

We need way more hustle and get after it attitude.  Granted, this is dying in general but we don't have to join the population on this.

I'm just saying it is beyond ridiculous to say that we will never be able to have a big time football program because UCF made it to the B12 and we didn't.  1.  College football will evolve forever.  2.  B12 is barely a P5 conference.  Sure, I would rather be in the B12 than the AAC, especially after losing three schools.  But B12 is hardly a juggernaut.  Our academics set us up better for the ACC and B10 than for UCF.  A few good years on the football side is all we need.

What does this nonsense have to do with anything?  Really serious misunderstanding of how the world works and how often things evolve on this board.

WVU is mulling to bail to the ACC. I think with the Big 12 not invited to the new ACC-Big 10-PAC 12 alliance its day as a P5 conference are numbered.

Why does WVU think they will be invited to the ACC?
