By "broadly representative" I assume that means someone from here is on the search committee?

That'd be pretty broad.

Sounds like the chair of that committee is a pretty big supporter of USF athletics. I get academics come first, but I'm hoping this means he also wants a president that realizes the importance of a healthy athletic program. Also Derrick Brooks being on there is interesting, would love to get him involved in the athletic program considering how well it went the last time we got a Buccaneer hall of famers help

Mike Griffin has been around USF for a very long time.  He is a fan of USF Athletics.  I think we'll be fine.

As for Derrick Brooks... He's on that committee for other reasons. Nothing I would say publicly though. Find me at a tailgate or something and maybe I'll give a little info. Big decision coming up for Athletics and the University this year.

Not rubbing elbows with him, but closer than the normal person. And I'm not stating I know anything from him. I just have insight on extra motives and strategies being used by 'his' camp. I just hope Athletics is careful.
