From Matt Baker's article on the new locker rooms:
"Quarterback Brendan Cyr and New Mexico State transfer Xander Yarberough have left the program due to “personal obligations,” Scott said."

Cyr is not a real loss, as we already have more QBs than we need, but Yarberough was a nice depth piece with some game experience at DE. DE is probably one of our weakest positions on this team entering the Summer, which is saying a lot. Hopefully someone can emerge to shine opposite Rashawn Yates. Keep an eye on Tramel Logan, I think he could be ready to take the next step after getting some PT as a true freshman last year.

Man, I had Xander Yarberough pegged as a starter this year.

I guess we will just make a NY6 bowl game instead of crashing the playoffs.

I was just about sold by all your optimism.    Now I'm worried.    Then again, maybe the rest of the d-line is just that good!   Back on board baby!

For any reason other than his 3 sacks in 2019? Because those came against an 8-5 Liberty team, a 5-7 Incarnate Word (FCS) team, and a 1-11 UTEP team. And without seeing the tape who knows how they even came. Did he use strength/speed to get past someone or did he end up getting a free rush to the passer?

I see no reason to think he would be better at pass rushing than Rashawn Yates (has sacks against Temple, BYU, GT, and UCF in his career), Tramel Logan (played every game as a true freshman and got a sack against Memphis),  and Jamari Stewart (redshirt freshman with offers from SEC, BIG 10, and PAC schools).

Our dline is still my biggest worry, but I think each of the guys I just named will have at least 3 sacks this year. Which may not seem like much but our dline as a unit had 3 sacks all of last year so it'll be progress.

The last 2 defensive line transfers came from Division 2 schools(Thad Magnum & Blake Green) and both are starters 🤷🏾‍♂️ Hell Thad Magnum was injured most of his last year at Wofford and had no stats.

You named 3 players that barely had more sacks than Yarbough "combined"....and that was Yarboroughs FIRST year playing DE/DT. He was a tight end the year before.
