First USF will have a meeting to plan to appoint a committee whose job will be to select a placement committee whose job will be to vet candidates for the job. A month later, we'll see an article about possible candidates in the paper. A month after that, there will be an "official" list released. About 6 months later, they will announce the hiring of the 2nd choice after the 1st choice declines to take the job. You know, the typical normal process. Football, yes. Academics actually has their **** together. The hiring process for this is lightning quick. You’ll hear 3-5 names and within a week of that it will be a done deal. The hiring committee alone (with all the groups you included) could take 3 weeks if not longer (since we have 6 weeks before classes start). Then the vetting process, the interviews, decision, etc. I am thinking Nov at the earliest.

This is just my hypothesis. No basis on facts. Just seems like a quick exit. There seem to be multiple reasons. How the Board views athletics could be one of those. Will be interesting to see how Joel Momberg's replacement as head of The Foundation comes out of this.

It took mos for them to settle on this guy so this will not be a quick process.

It might take them a few weeks to settle on a list, but the minute you hear any names, the hiring is 95% done. From the official job posting to hire, took UCF three weeks when they went through this last year. Edited July 22, 2021 by JTrue

I will immediately raid the academic and research coffers and funnel it all into the Athletic Department.

Here is my 30-60-90 day plan. First 30 days chase tail, get blackout drunk daily Second 30 days continue binge drinking and debauchery while illegally obtaining funds from our research department through phony projects and grants. last 30 days, continue my main focus on skanks and top shelf alcohol while also converting the stolen funds into phony donations to our athletic department. My resume is available upon request, I truly believe I could take this University to a new level and hope you will seriously consider me for the post, it would be an honor and I can’t say I will make us proud but I will get us some of that geek cash to buy some 4 star athletes and make us respectable again. 1
