There was no locker room, so the Bulls used the hoops arena to gear up. That’s correct. My kid and I went into their arena after the game after seeing the players off. I can only imagine what that press box was like for you. That was a very rinky dink stadium. Edited July 11, 2021 by NewEnglandBull

Here's another 2003 first, my first away game, USF's first game in Birmingham, and Alabama's last game in Birmingham. I will watch that highlight video at some point. Don't think I've ever seen that reel.

I was at that first USF football game and took my father, who attended many a Bulls' game with me (football, basketball and baseball) right up until he passed away four years ago. He also had the distinction of attending the first-ever USF football game, the first-ever FSU football game and being named Hero of the Game at USF Military Appreciation night. Furthermore, he had three children and three grandchildren who attended USF. I miss him every day and especially on game days. Thanks Pop.

It was a 59-0 W, but the most memorable event that night was Bill Gramatica hitting a 63 yd FG. My dad and I were cracking up because after he hit the FG, there was a handful of fans cheering (ya know, like what you're supposed to do at football games) and a RayJay usher or security guard came down and asked everyone to settle down. Pretty funny. But I remember falling in love with USF Football that night.

When they announced the kick I told her it would be one of the longest in NCAA history. After Billy made it she got a great pic of him leaping in the air to celebrate. I lost that picture in the divorce, however.
