I make recommendations for a living, but not everyone listens. A lot can happen between now and September, so I'll remain cautiously optimistic.

Well according to Porn-stache, this is a Done Deal.  And he is NEVER wrong, so there is that.

Pending approval - which it will be approved - headed to 12 teams

Not directed at you specifically, Roaming Bull, just an opinion on shared article...

First of all  Wetzel is a P5 apologist and not like Brando who has been fair to the so called G5.

Second, one of the few good things about being an older guy is you are no longer faced with some things in life.   While in school, on a team, dealing with parents, or being a young employee and having a bone thrown to you which is better than the alternative (you get nothing and like it).  I often had to get someone to shut up when we were getting an unforeseen benefit but some still wanted to express complaints that it was not enough.  I do not care where the games are played, just want the team I follow to at least have a shot in the dark chance rather than nothing. Tell Wetzel to take off.

From my understanding this is NOT a done deal... Or did I miss something?

I've stopped even bothering to point this type stuff out. Thread titles like this one are a huge pet peeve of mine, even when they do turn out to be true ....

I wish one of these guys would have thought about winning a conference.

In the news of the weird, the closest to come to that was CCS ....

Anyway, at least now, everyone in theory has a chance when they start the season

In theory, everyone has been having a chance but now that chance is more realistic ....

This is great news for USF and the AAC.

AAC wants a part in the P5, a P6.  That's the aim.  AAC settles for a chance to play in the big P5 game?  Better than what it is today, but nowhere near what Aresco says he believes.  I hope the AAC and USF doesn't now declare victory and go back to the usual.  The conference, and our place in it, is still an issue when it comes to attractiveness, money, recruiting, attendance, etc.

In the same vein of your question about the value added to the AAC by adding the west coast teams, what's in it for the P5 to add the AAC for a P6? And a similar question about a P5 adding USF ......

I'm not at the marketing/negotiating table.  Regardless, we need to start performing whether we as a team or the conference as a whole is to ever receive consideration.
