The league loses its waiver after 2022, unless the NCAA ends the requirements to play a CG as either playing round robin in a league or division.

So really this is not just about the CFP playoffs expanding but taking the keague to a higher future. 

That's the part I had forgotten about. So if we have to add another team to have a "legal" conference championship, BYU would be the biggest name out there and add the most value in that regard ...... but that's only if we HAVE to add one. Still not convinced, though, that BYU would pick us over the MWC if they feel that they have to join a conference. If there's some stuff out there that shows some real fire behind this BYU/AAC union smoke, I'd be interested to see it

There is. But I don’t think we will see any real moves until the CFP expansion is ironed out. When will start and how will money will be divided.

So really BYU or any other additions won’t happen until 2023 at the earliest.

No they won’t too much money involved. The question is will the first round games go to the bowls or home field.
