This could be huge for the five states allowing athletes to begin making money from endorsements. Think it helps us or only the blue bloods?

Yep, can you imagine the demand last year for the Jordan McCloud bobblehead, those things would have flown off the shelf.

Or imagine how Q, Marlon, JD, Valdez etc could have benefited.

I can see it now. Mike Ford doing commercials for a scooter driving school.  And Roberts doing one for Kitchenaid Toasters.

Do they trade in the scholarship so they can benefit from bobbleheads?

The best way for us to capitalize on this (read the absolute only way) is that the NCAA is planning on their rules to prevent athletes from competing with the university on exclusive sponsorships they have signed which mostly is impactful to their shoe deals. That’s a lot of money for the university at a major program as well as the best path to money for the athletes but we can probably afford to give up the $5 adidas gives us to wear their ****** HS hand me down uniforms in order to get in talent that maybe attracted to their own shoe and glove deals.

We won’t even pay to watch our own players play football and basketball. This has zero effect on our programs.

They would benefit, just not at USF. Why would they come here and get the CiCi’s pizza sponsorship when they could go to UF and get the PaPa Johns dough instead.

It does affect our programs. It means the rare talent that does sign here will be fewer and further between. This is the next step in making a new tiered system in the money sports.

I think it puts more pressure on the kids produce as early as possible. If you are graded highly in HS and sign with a big program you will likely need to begin making your mark ASAP. Big companies will likely shy away from throwing money at freshmen, and you will need to be proven by the time you are junior. This could create a lot of chaos with the new transfer rules. High level recruits going down a level and productive G5 players moving up to the big leagues. They may need to get rid of the JUCO schools with how things are lining up.
