Rip Bull Winkle ??  being of idle nature and mediocre efforts & production, went to the woods one day to escape the Fan's nagging & bitchin. He got drunk on hopefulness and slept through 20 seasons only to awaken and find....? All the other teams in the conference had excelled and gone their own ways through the years. The naggin/bitchin Fan's were gone too. Some passed on and others drifted away, nobody cared anymore. The moral of this story?? RBW should have just stayed in his sleeping state...because mediocre doesn't cut it and hopefulness will only last so long.

Yes, when we were in the Big East.  Now, No.   Its very hard to remain positive year after mediocre year.  I hope we will soon become competitive in the AAC; but it seems whenever things are starting to go our way it all falls apart.

Good point USF football has yet to achieve upper tier status and being in this conference will require a lot. I am hoping the 12 team playoff that seems to be hot right now takes place so we at least have a chance.

Word is it’s 5-1-6 model: 5 P5 conference teams, 1 G5 team, and 6 wildcards (which could technically include another G5 team).
