Rougher 3rd.   3 straight hits and a WP but only 1 run thanks to 2 guys thrown out on the bases.  Still no BB's and 4 K's through 3

Nice things said about his outing ....

“I thought he was outstanding,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said. “Just really, really impressive to watch from the side.

“The stuff speaks for itself. You watch the radar gun. You watch the breaking ball depth that he creates. He did a really, really nice job.”

...

Oakland manager Bob Melvin was clearly impressed, offering high praise.

“It feels like (facing Tyler) Glasnow all over again,” Melvin said. “He’s going to be pretty good.”

… Cash said left-hander Shane McClanahan, who made his regular-season major-league debut on Thursday afternoon, will have a regular spot in the rotation for the time being. McClanahan’s pitching workload is uncertain as he continues to build up.

Whoa ........

Shane McClanahan was certainly impressive in his regular-season debut, but ESPN’s Jeff Passan may have gone a little far in tweeting “the Rays rookie is primed to be the hardest-throwing left-handed starter in big league history.”

Great choice, my favorite Skynyrd song ....

McClanahan’s warm up song was Lynyrd Skynyrd’s 'Simple Man'.

Starting tonight vs the Angels.

Had tickets for this game and the one yesterday but the Angels canceled the tickets in "an abundance of caution".

I would have seen a USF alum on the mound for the Rays.

I think he had a little bit of a rough 1st and then it looks like he dominated.   Be nice if they would let him through more than 63 pitches though.  🤨
