Don’t know if the starter will end up being a Flowers or Grothe, but this is one of the better - if not the best - looking QB rooms we’ve had. They all look competent. Can’t remember saying that too often.

I didn't really want to weigh in since I only caught the second half, but I am quite optimistic with the scrambling and the passing that I saw.  It's nice to be looking forward to the season again.

I was really impressed how much more poised McClain looked from his hs state championship game (which he looked pretty raw) to the spring game...

I'm putting it second to the Floyd/Eveld/White/Bench QB room ....

So the qb battle to watch appears to be William's vs Marsh for second spot.

McClain should be redshirted this year...its not like this team is just a qb away from greatness..we have a bunch of other parts that need fixing also.

I think BJ( he will have input-influence) will have some good material to work with in that crew. All talented. I like Cadin's size /strength. I liked how he treated the lineman he looked in control-focused. There is definite talent there with all the qb's nice to be able to see them all in action. Hopefully there will be some patient backup's this year to whomever gets the nod. If our O line can grow/improve we could see some big possibilities for our elevated game. Looking forward to the Fall.

I know there is limited tape on McClain but based on what people saw yesterday I have already heard early comparisons to Flowers - what's everyone else take on that?

He is faster than Flowers but I don’t know if he is as shifty.

Very very few are, he appears to be a better passer at this stage in his career than Q was as well.  Has about 3” more height too, but still Q was Q and way too early to even mention them in the same breath.

Just like other posters said, it is to early to tell..but his throwing seems more developed as opposed to Flowers early on...the net of it is, this kid is pretty talented...
