I would much prefer gambling on one of our own than what we will probably go with but what I would prefer much more is for once actually hitting on something

Ya think?

I think we are all over the board (literally and figuratively).  I thought this team had a decent shot at making the tourney and instead they won 4 conf games and our best player barely made a case for starting on this crappy team (no idea the injury a year later would make him an ordinary player at best).  The team is now a dumpster fire and needs to rebuild again, this story has gotten old.  I say give the alum a chance, I honestly don’t even remember him but why not, my interest in this **** show is hanging by a thread anyways.

Because of injuries we were going into our first year in the mighty Big East with CC as a walk-on pg and I remember thinking "this isn't going to end well" ........ gee, I guess I was ahead of the curve back then.

Kid was a gamer here ..... our starting pg, a walk on, as we entered the Big East. I think he even played part of the season with a mask on because of an injury. I'd fully endorse him here ....... nothing to lose at this point

I guess I would consider him.  Just think we could do a little better.  He may end up being great, but he is such an unknown.

He has no HC experience and not a whole lot of experience as an assistant HC.  Been with FIU (big whoop), and now under Andy Enfield gaining experience under him.  I honestly remember Enfield more for that run that FGCU made, then what he has done at USC.  So, I think this would be taking a chance.

Alum Ryan Odom is still at UMBC and may be a steal.

With that said NCAA athletics is becoming less and less enjoyable and I’m rapidly losing interest.

1 year as a grad asst doesn’t give me that tingling feel going up my leg.  Our history in hoops is pretty much abysmal so the thought of bringing anyone back doesn’t really make any sense anyways unless we want to continue our trend of suckage.   It has become less enjoyable because we suck.

Very very interesting choice. Had no remembrance of him at all so Googled. He was a GA here but did he graduate from here? Saw he played at something called Hampden–Sydney.

Coach's son, Dave Odom, a name I did recognize. Not sure about being from the Greenberg coaching tree, though, but then saw that he was the UMBC hc when they as a 16 seed made history by beating Virginia. Question is why is he still there?

What’s with the push with hiring an alumnus? Give me a proven coach. Spend some f’n money on a real coach. Do a Lee Rose...we need some type of excitement as most people will not wait for “another” 5 year rebuild.

Alums only have to attend, not graduate.  I thought he attended, but maybe not.  He did coach with Seth for years so we’re all kin.
