There is no gratification in seeing an entire team go through what they have been reportedly put through, by a coaching staff that is clearly struggling to find success here.

But Kelly has been given a gift - instead of repeating the hand wringing he did with Strong for a year, he now has the opportunity to justifiably hit the reset button NOW on the program, show his ability to lead in a crisis, be part of the solution, be an advocate for all his student-athletes and hire a replacement that will breath life back into the program, all while being the hero who declares that he is an advocate for all student-athletes and that discrimination of any kind will not ever occur in USF athletics (moving forward disclaimer).

He has been given an opportunity to be THE hero here. I hope he is up to it.

Will they be able to get out of paying them a buyout if the allegations are true.  And do we think charges will be filed?  Should we consider the death penalty for the sport?  What was allegedly said anyways?

I feel we may need to fire Kelly and the president as well, clean the entire house and not just a spring cleaning.  This level of discrimination runs deep, if any of this alleged behavior happened under Judy’s watch than I want her questioned and held accountable as well.  A civil suit may be next.

If the allegations are true then they probably could avoid the $435k buyout, but think it would be best to pay it since it is relatively small and have everyone walk away. Any litigation over a buyout just keeps an ugly story alive longer. No need for the death penalty - too many good offensive coaches (see my post on McKay and Nagy) out there for Kelly to convince to come to USF like he did with Scott for football.

What was alleged is out there on other pay sites through some extraordinary reporting, so don't want to repeat that here and violate any site rules on that, especially since none of it has been confirmed via the investigation.

Why pay him, let the little bastard squirm.  Not sure how you can constitute Scott as a good coach yet, but whatever.  Doesn’t really matter if they are guilty are not now, the damage has been done, cancel these 2 guys and bring in a replacement to rebuild.

The only rule I am aware of that is close to this is:

6. When linking to outside websites, you must ensure that the content of the link is appropriate for our community, in line with the guidelines laid out here. This includes mentioning or referencing a site, even if the mention is not hyperlinked. If you post a link and that link is automatically censored, it is considered to be an inappropriate link and you should remove it from your post immediately. If left, all posts that feature inappropriate links may be removed.

Linking to a sign-up, teaser or members-only page of another site is not allowed.  These posts will be removed.

And I am not sure how someone mentioning what they saw would some how violate that.

I think Scott was a good "get" by Kelly, but we will have to see how good of a HC he is. McKay and Nagy should be on Kelly's short list.

We both agree the jury is still out on him, we got a CO-OC that did not call plays, he needs to improve drastically over what he displayed last year.

So nice to see the national media picking up on our racially charged episode at our alma mater. Wouldn't be surprised to see this get lots and lots of coverage in this day and age. Of course we don't know details but it has caused many players to bailout. They might see the writing on the wall...CBG is going down. If it was one and done dumbass remark and they fire the idiot? Maybe he stays but...5-6 more players leaving?? The media will chew on this and pressure will be put on the administration to clean house. The guy is assoc head coach that's like CBG right arm. Payout? Maybe but if there is cause?? It could be uber fare home. I like the guy and have had hopes for us especially after the 22 wins right off the bat but...it's been a downward spiral since now this bs. What idiot in a college basketball program gets accused of making racial statements especially, when race is such a hot topic and most of your players are young men of color? How ignorant is this guy? USF didn't need this kind of negativity. It takes away from the womens championship run and what JS is trying to build in football. This will really draw in some donors too..and recruits too...you betcha

Whats the rule on posting under different accounts?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
