Relax Dave.....sometimes you have to win ugly before you win big!

I’m relaxed. They haven’t won big since returning from COVID. I don’t see that coming.

What type of offense are we running when we clearly have an advantage in the post and our two bigs are only attempting 4 of the team's 61 shots in the game? The 20 rebounds are nice and all, but you have to do better than 1 of 4 from the floor and 2 of 4 from the FT line.

The good news is that UCF is running into a Cincy team that has won 4 straight, including an 8 point win @ Houston, and has a really good interior player in Thomas (AAC POY).  Cincy could very well give them some issues in that game.

Was not close. Held the AAC player of the year (Thomas)  to 13 points. It was a drubbing.  Next up!

UCF looks like the favorite to win this thing right now, which certainly would remove any luster for USF.

Question is (if we get that far) is who do we really want to see in the Final? Depends on Houston gets through ECU. But I’m pretty confident on that

Does anyone know why Jordao has fallen out of the rotation? Prior to the Covid break she was averaging 13.4 min/g and 5 pts. 5 REB. and 1.2 blocks. Since the return, she has averages 5.8 minutes, .8 pts, 1.3 reb, and .3 blocks.

Also, Maria Alvarez's role is severely reduced. Pre-Covid break she was averaging 18.6 min, 10.2 points, 2.5 reb, and 1.1 ast. Since the return, she is averaging 13.3 min, 3.7 pts, .7 reb, and .7 ast.

Think Jordao wasn't available last game. She can't guard anyone on D. Alvarez just hasn't been playing well enough to get more minutes. Again, defensive liability so if she isn't shooting well............

It wasn't a drubbing, it was a solid performance. Your defense carried you well. You were about 1 FG better than Cincy each quarter. Can't afford to lose to Houston or your tourney spot is gone. At least we know that we are in.

Over the last 3 games Maria is 5-10 from 3 point range. She was REALLY rusty coming out of the break (2-17 from 3), but shooters need to shoot. Would like to see her get more PT. She isn't a tremendous liability on defense.  Tsineke has been eating up Alvarez's minutes. I know steals aren't everything on defense, but Maria has far more steals per minute this season than does Tsineke. Also, with Alvarez stretching the defense a little bit more, it seems to get our bigs easier looks inside. Tsineke likes to drive more than Alvarez and that tends to clog up the middle. Munuga works much better with more space.

Could be, UCF had a terrible FT night, probably due to not even seeing that floor before the game began, Cinci had played a game there which IMO, was a huge advantage. Should be a GREAT game tonight. Good luck the rest of the way.
