C'mon. That was the '60s not the '70s.

Oh, I wouldn't even try the sixties - that goes without saying! 😁

The 70’s was one long recession, closed stores, rusted and decrepit buildings and I was in elementary school so did not even get to partake in the hard drugs, that decade sucked.

Doubt it. He'll coach until he's 80. Don't see him staying at SMU for 16 years.

He drinks a case of Diet Coke a day, I bet he doesn’t see 80.

So you were in grammar school but remember the recession?  I can see it now.  Grandpa put you on his knee and regaled you with stories of Reaganomics. Wait. That was after.  And the bedtime classic. Little Bo Peep has lost her job.

I'm actually a little too young for the '60s stuff. My brother was 8 years older so I was aware of what drugs could do to a person.

Wow I always assumed you were in your mid 20’s you may want to slow down on the binge drinking, your body isn’t made for that any more.

I have a young body and mind for my age, but yes you are right, my body won't let me do the things I use to be able to do.  I am lucky though that I have good genes and I eat right and work out.  I just drink more than I have any business too.

But thanks for the compliment.

You young kids don't know squat. You have to punish the liver to make it stronger.

That is very true, I am no doctor but I believe it is similar to lifting weights, you break it down and it builds back stronger.

I have always been very observant, just remember and from the photos, everything was old, crappy and run down, no cable TV, bell bottoms, disco, basically nothing good came out of the 70’s.  The decade was ass

  • Quotes

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
