I’m lovin’ every minute of this. If they convince Gabriel to go, too, it would just be the icing on the cake. Maybe they’ll hire Taggart.  🙂

Or Leavitt ... man would @puc86's head explode if that happened

I think they have to hire a coordinator off of somebody else's. team. No way the purge a head coach unless it's from the FCS

Is there any chance they come back down to earth and we catch up? I hope they make some bad hires and have a long painful rebuilding process.

Yes...they are on the decline now...they were about to take a giant duece...all of their solid talent has pretty much left and they have backed off recruiting in Florida...Gabriel might have kept them at 6 wins maybe 7...but they were absolutely on a downward trend...I hoped Huepel was going to stay through this season, because I could see the writing on the walk with them...

If we beat them routinely I would get over it pretty quickly, now if he went there and they dominated us like we used to dominate them absolutely my head would explode as I would hope everyone’s would. I am driven by results far more than by emotions it’s just hard to tell in this example as one person has a monopoly on both. It is true that I had no desire to get rid of CJL but my hatred of it has a lot more to do with what has transpired since than the firing.

I wonder if White still has the same take on 1 for 1’s, we should call him and find out

I don’t see how they hire a coach until they have an AD, so it may be Randy Shannon for them this year as an interim. If so, they’re in a world of hurt on the recruiting end and they’re already thin with all the talent that they lost this offseason. If Gabriel decides to move, they’re in a total rebuild for the next few years and it will be all the more important for us to get up off the deck and reclaim that spot.

He sure has become the journeyman of college football. Not sure why he can’t get a head coaching job in the MAC, Sun Belt, C-USA and just settle in.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
