Sims Promoted To Linebackers Coach - USF Athletics

Bulls analyst promoted to position coach; Scott announces staff changes

TAMPA, JAN. 15, 2021 – USF head coach Jeff Scott today announced the promotion of defensive quality control analyst Ernie Sims to linebackers coach and the departure of two members of the coaching staff.

Safeties coach Wes Neighbors and running backs coach Pat White have departed the program for other opportunities. Defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer will move from his positional coaching duties with the linebackers to coaching safeties.

I wish the departing folks well. Hopefully we can bring in some coaches who can coach our guys up and recruit. I wonder if he’s going to try to bring over some former Clemson players as GAs?

He could definitely play and from Tally so I hope he can find a few diamonds in the rough.  Maybe get a guy like him, undersized but fast and under the radar.
