Professionally, yeah, he might get one more HC shot down the road, but I’d argue he’s probably still financially set for life. Who knows, I could see him pulling a Skip Holts or Frank Solich and realizing life is probably less stressful and still pretty good at a lower level school. And the money is **** good by real people standards.

Skip's in the perfect spot. A level where he can excel, consistently put out a team that competes for the conference and probably become a beloved fixture in the community and school. While making a lot of money and being completely secure.

So if we'd gotten someone else to replace CJL and THEN gotten Holtz (most hc's following legends don't fare well), we'd be set ......... USF luck strikes again.

Nope he would have had success and bolted for a bigger job thinking he was the man.  He would have never been the answer.

He's got a pretty nice house up there and the area is nice.  We actually knew a surgeon that we met on vacation that lived about a mile from where he is.

To be ranked above any FBS team is a miracle at this point. We can't beat one yet we are ranked higher... We have HOPE and that is about it at this point. WE suck until we win.

We drive through Ruston on 20 from time to time on our way to Florida when we drive, he turned out well for a daddy’s boy.  End of the day the race is long, sometimes we are ahead and sometimes we are behind , end of the day we are only racing ourselves, most of us are winning as long as we understand the game.

There are only about 6 jobs in the NCAA you can’t/wouldn’t move up from if you had. Every coach at every program is eventually getting fired or moving on. And I’d do it, too.

Yes however there are more jobs deemed more desirable than ours which makes the likelihood of losing that coach much quicker than if you are at a P5.  If you are waiting for Alabama, Clemson, ND than that is a long wait.
