Last year was the worst, same teams playing out west in a blow out.  I have ignored it as well and will go out of my way to not watch Bama under any circumstances.  **** them

I am with you. Not going to bother with it this year.

With all of the committee members being from the P5 it never had a chance in terms of impartiality.

That's not entirely accurate, but close:

6 current P5 employees

2 former P5 head coaches

2 former P5 players

2 current G5 AD's

1 Former Chief of Staff U S Army

Those 2 poor G5 guys...they must feel like quota children around that table.

Only way to take the committee out is make it champions only. The playoff would have to expand to 8 or 16 and conferences would have to be reconfigured. You could go with 8 16 team conferences or 16 8 team conferences with only conference champions being in the playoff. That removes the committee and the computer could seed the 8 or 16 champions.

Playoffs are good, but this process is a joke. Maybe 8 teams would work better.  Now, nothing matters except the very last vote. They'll have a team ranked #5 the whole time, then magically let a team ranked #8 jump into the playoffs in the last vote.

I would love to see some dramatic action but what can be done? The G5 can't just boycott the sport... but some refusal to just be the punching bag is in order.

100%...our goose was cooked when everyone agreed to this. But I wonder if tv viewers start to decrease if it’s Bama vs Clemson again. Those two teams are automatic each year so there is really only two spots open every year. That’s great if you’re a fan of those two teams but at some point I wonder if the audience fatigue takes place.

It’s an echo chamber. Bama, Clemson, Ohio State for the playoff. The SEC for the entire regular season. They’ve made college football very insular. Either this framework needs to be broken, or it’s going to get worse. The BXII should join the G5 in trying to fix things or most of those schools will be on the outside looking in soon.
