Against a terrible defense...he will have to step way up to hold the starting position

I will give him that though...at least he played well against a terrible defense...there is a ton of competition back there now...

I’m not sure about what the paper says but I will take Grothe backed up by Daniels

Was referring more to quantity at the actual qb position. For most of our history, we've had maybe 2 actual qb's on the roster, with the rest being tight ends or long snappers with the qb designation.

I find QBs to best be measured qualitatively over quantitatively

Congrats CJS, this is the best way to build a program under the current condition. You have to know CJS is auditioning for a better gig. Bringing in P5 types will certainly move the needle up. This what I have been saying the whole time. If CCS would have hit the portal for P5 players that legit, then he would still be here. He should should have moved on Buechele  from Texas.

Why would you keep Smith over Marsh.  You have seen nothing from Smith, and apparently, neither has the coaching staff, or he would have played this year.

Some QB's will find their way off the team somehow, right now we have what, 6 QB's.  One of these guys has to be a player.

Smith is a legacy and a dual threat.  I would rather have that as the fourth string QB than a statue with a big arm that only throws to the other team.  Marsh does not posses the skill set to be a successful USF QB.  It seems like McClain or bust to me.  Williams can come in and hold down the fort until McClain is ready.

Did any of the outgoing players get signed today?

Nope. I checked earlier. FAU, ECU, Howard and Charlotte 49ers all have coaching ties to USF. I suspect a few of them might end up there.

It will be interesting if they get scholarship $ or they have to walk on.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
