I wish his weight read 335 lbs in stead of 235 lbs. Oh well.

Im hoping his body doesnt pass the football on its way to the punter..That would be an azz over tea kettle moment

I have always felt that it was a step in the right direction when we begin recruiting directly from the stands rather than strictly from high school and JUCO interests. I would assume that there are bus drivers and equipment managers who are also in the peripheral pipeline just waiting to suit up.

Progress, gentlemen...progress!

There has actually been an upward trend of college football programs putting a greater emphasis on the position and actively recruiting for it.

It's a pretty key position, as we've found out, and maybe being a long snapper would be a tiebreaker between two comparable position players they're looking at offering but are they actively recruiting specifically for that position first?

If a kid is a top 10 Long snapper, I can assure you they are being actively recruited.  Are they being recruited specifically for that position? That depends on the programs specific recruiting/depth needs.  I know there are a few families that built their names on producing long snappers.

I would think that, generally speaking, a guy that is pretty much only a long snapper would be a candidate for preferred walk on.  Then they could also be like 9th LB or something.  Occasionally that guy could end up playing another position.

Certainly at the NFL level it has become a specialist position like kicker.  Most long snappers at that level only snap.

The problem as CJS said today was that there were no walk-on try outs this year.
