Yes it is important that people begin to recognize that just because you own some stocks, know a few people that work there and have fond memories of holiday commercials and free cookies as a kid does not some how change the fact that Publix is outstanding at absolutely nothing, the cashiers are on their phones or talking to the baggers, the isles are filled with people stocking items as slow as humanly possible during the busiest times, the subs are barely a step above Subway, the sub bread is hard as a rock and the closest thing they have to an innovation is putting chicken fingers on their subs. Publix is great only if your only frame of reference is Walmart and Food Lion but in the current world they are an aging dinosaur that needs to be smashed in the head with a meteor, they are average at best and Florida suffers from their market strangle hold on the State.
