Dr. Charles Lockwood, Dean of USF Health discussed Florida coronavirus stats and outlook on cable TV.  You missed it if you avoid Fox News.   He may have been on the others, not sure. If I can find the video I will post it.

Interesting info from the USF doc but that clip is a perfect example of why that's the only clip from either side's circus like talking head shows I've have watched in years and don't plan on watching any more ...

And this may or may not be a "massive scandal brewing" down here .... https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/jul/16/facebook-posts/misreported-test-data-orlando-does-not-explain-flo/

Politifact really missed the boat...there were more than one.   I think it was between two and three dozen in the report above.

I don't know how anyone would connect a few dozen labs reporting incorrectly as the sole source of the outbreak - only an idiot would say that....so Politifact must have found one.  Can't even read that.  Not sure how anyone could think that way.  If it's a scandal, or pure stupidity, it seems to be on a limited basis.

Oh it says "claim was made by internet prankster Joey Saladino".  I thought Politifact was a supposed to be a legit site?

Then this comes along, also out of Orlando:

FDOH-COVID-dashboard.jpg?ve=1&tl=1
WWW.FOX35ORLANDO.COM

A person who died in a motorcycle accident was added to Florida’s COVID-19 death count, according to a state health official.

Quote

FOX 35 News found this out after asking Orange County Health Officer Dr. Raul Pino whether two coronavirus victims who were in their 20s had any underlying conditions. One of his answers surprised us.

“The first one didn’t have any. He died in a motorcycle accident,” Pino said.
....

But you could actually argue that it could have been the COVID-19 that caused him to crash.

No kidding.

Which is why FoxNews calling it a "potentially massive scandal brewing" was a joke .....

Potential is a key word and it can be massive for those labs.  Regardless it has nothing to do with the Politifact nonsense report.

The reason for posting the article is to be aware of the problems with fear porn, partisanship and the vulnerability of efforts at this level.

No need to be hatin on Politifact. A lot of their stuff is done in response to inquiries on their site. While you and I realize that the clown's posts were nonsensical, there are plenty out there who swallow that kind of crap up but maybe, just maybe, some common sense may get through to some of the least brain dead of them.

Agree that fear porn and partisanship on both sides is alive and well as evidenced by that article, and a lot of the media .... and we can only hope that the vast majority of the efforts to get the data correct from the sources is accurate.

On a personal note, I've got travel planned in a month and wish the info could be proven to be drastically overstated. Already had to move the trip once and daily check with trepidation if there are travel restrictions being put in place again with our destination location.
