Cooper's dad was a TV sports guy in Phoenix.  He reacted as some fathers might, that his kid wouldn't be the one to succumb.  Sad.  None of us know what happened.  Just like the other story out here about the 19 hotshots that died.  One lived and he has felt forsaken because of that.

I'm just glad my memory was vindicated ......

I think the Dad is just a little bitter because in his mind the story makes his Son look weaker somehow.  Which isnt necessarily true.

Or it could be he is still dealing with the loss of a son. If I was in his position I would too would be bitter they are making a flick from this.

Jesus that sounds as depressing as hell...a hard pass...

Some stories just don't need to be made to a movie. I remember I saw this movie called "Why do fools fall in love" about some motown singer named Frankie Lymon and was like, "they could have kept this man's life a secret." Buddy was a druggie and str8 douchbag. Until this day I hate that song b/c of the movie.

I get that. There are a few movies out there I just refused to watch. Profiting off misery...it may sell but it does not mean I will contribute. Of course I guess I do contribute in some way relative to misery...USF Football...I kid I kid..😀

Do they have to get permission from the families to make a movie involving their kids?  Dont know Im curious.  I would assume the next of kin would get some percentage of the royalties as well?

But your right.  Im sure its not an easy thing for them.

Perhaps they see it as the telling of a story of the human spirit and the desire to live despite all odds?

Perhaps...for those of the relatives who survived.
