Guest
We might, but if we upset a Big East team early in the season, can we not anoint ourselves as Big East Champs? SC -- I realize the sarcasm implied here... but consider this. Football: 1) USF was expected to finish near the bottom of the Big East. 2) A top 10 program, projected to be conference champion, and openly talked about as a possible national champion big, came to RayJay 3) Before the season started, most people here felt we would lose the game 4) USF not only won, but won so handily that it is being called the worst upset of the year 5) The rest of the league looked pathetic... Pitt lost to Ohio of all teams... WVU barely beat ECU at home... Rutgers couldn't hold the lead against lowly Illinois... Based on the above, it seemed plausible that A) USF was better than anyone thought The rest of the Big East was worse than anyone thought This all changed in Pittsburgh, however. Now let's see what we have in basketball... 1) USF is expected to finish last 2) Most of us expect that a .500 season would be outstanding, and a 10-win season would be appropriate If USF wins all OOC game, then people will start talking about the Big East and NCAA tournaments... I see nothing wrong with either line of thinking...
