that was crazy... only the 2nd time in history that a player has hit a go ahead homer in the 9th inning or later of an elimination game when trailing.(plus it was a 2 out homer)

Incredible...only other player... Dave Henderson for the Red Sox, and they went on to win that ALCS.

HMMM.  Does st louis have a chance?  Clemens/Oswalt next two games... i say no.

The longer this series goes, the better for Chicago.

This series is irrelevant. No matter who wins they have to face the best pitching in the Bigs on one week's rest.

Its far from irrelevant...

you are either going up against one of the best offenses in the league (with a pretty good pitching staff), or the best starting pitching staff in the Bigs.  I'm rooting for Chicago, but NLCS winner in 6.

I think the odds favor Houston fairly substantially... Clemens and Oswalt shoudl be able to get at least 1 win against anyone.

Sure St Louis has a chance, but i think its very slim at this point.

You are right... you never know... but the odds, i'd say, are still in Houston's favor.  Odd's mean diddly squat once the game starts.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
